Thai women weightlifters won nine gold medals at the World Weightlifting Championships, held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan during 2-5 November 2018.  Thanya Sucharoen won the first three gold medals in the women’s 45 kg division for Thailand  by lifting 80 kg in snatch, and 106 kg in clean and jerk for  a 186 kg total.  In the women’s 49 kg division,  Sopita Tanasan won a gold medal in lifting 93 kg in snatch whilst Chayuttra Pramongkhol won two gold medals in lifting 120 kg in clean and Jerk and a total weight of 209 kg.   Sukanya Srisurat  won three gold medals by lifting 93 kg in snatch and  127 kg in clean and jerk for a 232 kg total in the women’s 55 kg division.
