Miss Thunya Sukcharoen, Thai woman weight lifter in body weight 48 Kg. class snatched 86 Kg. to win the first gold medal for Thailand team but had to settled for a silver medal in the Clean and Jerk with 109 Kg. and another silver medal in the overall weight with 193 Kg. at the World Weight Lifting Championship, held at  Anaheim city, California State, the United States of America on 27 November 2017.

            Later on 1 December 2017, Miss Sopita Tanasan, Thai woman weight lifter in 53 Kg. class won 3 gold medals.  She  took her first gold with a 96 Kg. lift in the snatch, her second gold with her 114 Kg. effort in the clean and jerk and her third gold for her total of 210 Kg.

            Thailand’s other woman weight lifter, Miss Sukanya Srisurat, in 59 Kg. class, also struck a gold medal as she lifted 105 Kg. with the snatch and a silver medal with her combined lift of 225 Kg. on the same date.
