The Thai U23 women's volleyball team defeated Chinese club Liaoning 3-1 to win the VTV Cup in Vietnam last night. 

It was Thailand's first triumph at the tournament, having finished second last year. 

The victory is a huge boost for Thailand ahead of the Women's World U23 Championship later this month.
