Miss Nitchaon Jindapol, a Thai badminton player, World Number 15  won the Championship in the Grand Prix Gold Bitburder Badminton Open 2017, held in Saarbrucken, the Federal Republic of Germany on 6 November 2017, beating Miss Beiwan Zhang, World Number 12 of Malaysia in a final of superb rallies 21-17, 15-21, 21-19 to claim her second World Grand Prix title at the same venue where  she had won her first in 2013.

            Thailand also won the Women’s Doubles Championship after second seeds Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai beat Japanese pair  Akane Araki and Aoi Matsuda 21-19,21-6.
