On 29 January 2015, the CNN website released a list of the 25 most visited cities in the world. Thailand’s cities of Bangkok, Phuket, and Pattaya placed third, fifteenth, and eighteenth respectively.

In 2013, Bangkok welcomed 17.5 million international tourists. More than a third of the top 100 cities for 2013 international arrivals were in the Asia-Pacific region.

Phuket received 8 million international tourists, andPattaya received 7 million.
