Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali instructed the "Friends In Need (of "Pa") Volunteers Thai Red Cross Project, Thai Red Cross Society" to provide 5,000 aid packages, 500 tents and 100 blankets for those suffering from floods in Malaysia with Mr. Jakkrit Kanjanasoon, Consul General of Thailand in Kota Kinabalu as a representative to give the goods. The Thai cabinet also approved a donation of 500 tonnes of rice to contribute to the donation towards the people in Kota Kinabalu.

The flood has hit 8 states of Malaysia since 16 December 2014, leaving more than 200,000 residents displaced and 18 people dead.

The current situation has eased and restoration of the residences is underway.
