New Delhi, 12 January, 2015 - The Tourism Authority of Thailand has been presented with an award for Outstanding Tourism Promotion Agency in Northern India (The Best International Tourism Board – North) for 2014.
Received by the TAT’s India Director Ms. Runjuan Tongrut, based in New Delhi said, “India is one of seven countries from which Thailand received more than one million annual arrivals. It is a very competitive and challenging market. These awards help us realise that we are doing well in terms of maintaining our brand positioning. We thank the editors, publishers of DDP, and Indian tourism industry for their confidence in Thailand.”
The award is the eight that the TAT and Thailand have won in India this year. The other seven awards are:
In 2013, Indian visitors to Thailand totalled 1,028,414, up + 4.31% over 2012. Based on an average daily expenditure per person of USD179.15, and average length of stay of 7.14 days, Indian visitors generated tourism revenue of USD 1,315.50 million in 2013. For 2014, TAT is expecting almost the same number as 2013.
