On 13 September 2014, Thai Royal Embassy in Vienna, in cooperation with Department of International Trade Promotion(DITP) in Vienna, organized Thai Silk Fashion Showcase at Vienna Fashion Week 2014 located in MuseumQuartier in Vienna. This is the biggest annual fashion event in Vienna since 2551. There are more than 80 creative and stylists plus more than 500,000 people attending the event every year. Thailand is the only Asian country invited to the event. Apart from fashion show, there are selling booths of clothes, works and products by those celebrated ones in the event for guests.
Thai Silk Fashion Showcase included fashion show designed by Thai Young Designers of the DITP consisted of Adhoc, Lakwilai, Pattric Boyle and Paul Direk, fashion show of Thai silks favored by Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles as well as fashion show of Thai silks of Kamlangjai Project run by Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha also took part in a Finale Performance, wearing Thai Mudmee silk clothes designed by Mr.Suphachai Vivatpol and Thai decorations designed by Mr.Suphijak Pakpukdee.
The aim of the event is to present Thai silk clothes, which are among premium OTOP products, into fashion, clothe and textile industries in Austria. This is the first promoting fashion show event to fulfill Thai strategy to support Royal Projects and promote The Foundation For the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen.
