World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) released the Global Innovation Index 2019 on 24 July 2019.  Thailand has moved up steadily to 43th place in 2019 from 52^nd place in 2016, 47^th place in 2017, and 44^th place in 2018.

Thailand has gained massive points from infrastructure, followed by business sophistication, institutions, creation output, human capital and research, knowledge and technology outputs, and market sophistication.
